This tour is offered from Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. We drive around the Sea of Galillee and crossing the former Israel-Syria border, we ascend the Golan Heights. Passing former Syrian bunkers we travel to the lookout over the present border and see the Syrian town of Kuneitra. After a discussion of the strategic importance of the Golan Heights, we travel to the new town of Katzrin and visit the 1500 year old restored synagogue. We stop at the Golan Heights Winery and try some of the best wines Israel has to offer.
